We're a lean, energetic business employing only highly skilled and fully trained work force providing roofing & cladding systems to robust & accurate requirements.
My first role was working as a Storeman for local roofing company before progressing to Contracts manager where I was responsible for traditional flat roofing and managing works at Hinkley Point Nuclear Power Station until 1991.
The company also invented a roofing product that would revolutionise the roofing industry, and working with the Department Of Trade and Industry spent a year travelling UK, Ireland and France looking for financial & manufacturing partnerships to help bring the product to market.
Having struck a deal with Asphaltic Roofing Supplies, a national company with 52 depots, I was then tasked with working in each depot administering sales and technical product training to their staff so that they could confidently demonstrate the products' benefits to key decision makers.
Assessing the quality & suitability of roofing products is a key skill I have built over many years & is invaluable when building trust with all the various stakeholders involved in any construction project.
In order to get increased exposure for the product it had to specified by architects. I was tasked to look for a company with a sales team experienced with selling to architects. This led to a deal with Blunn Slates, a London based outlet who took the product on, with my role being to train and educate their Sales representatives, 11 in total covering the UK. After working for 6 months with their representatives I was offered a role within Blunn Slates managing sales in the South West for Roofing Slates, both Natural and Man Made. I worked for Blunn Slates for 3 years before being head Hunted by Eternit.
Eternit were the market leaders in roofing slate products. I spent 2 years working as a technical sales manager until being head hunted by Spanish Slate Quarries. SSQ owned quarries in Spain and Argentina. I spent 3 years working with SSQ who were the market leader in natural slate.
Working for the largest suppliers and quarry owners in the market gave me a unique insight into slate production, supply chain management and customer relationship management on a large scale.
In 2000 I setup Bowline Roofing & Netting Ltd working onsite for several years, building the company up to a 6 Million turn over per annum, employing over 40 roofing professionals & completing various prestigious projects including:
In 2008 I sold Bowline to Western Counties Roofing and took a Directorship as Director for Health & Safety where I worked for 7 years on many successful projects including:
